EMMY LETTERS : Answering ‘Family Values’ Campaign

I suffered through the Emmy telecast and, as a conservative, I felt like I’d spent three long hours being slapped in the face.
I came away with these impressions: Kirstie Allie and Richard Lewis are space cadets. Roseanne Arnold is outrageous and adorable and should have won instead of Candice Bergen, who’s won too often.
Laurie Metcalf was long overdue for an award, and I was delighted that Craig T. Nelson won because his show is funny and he’s terrific. Also, he didn’t make any political speeches, for which I was devoutly thankful.
I was pleasantly surprised with host Dennis Miller and wholeheartedly agree that it was “the most liberal Emmy show since Caligula.”
Was it really an Emmy show, or just one more Clinton-Gore rally?
