Steelworkers Approve Pact With LTV: The approval by the United Steelworkers of America eases the way for the company to emerge from six years under federal bankruptcy court protection. USW spokesman Gary Hubbard said the contract, which affects about 13,000 workers in six states, was approved by a 4-1 margin. The contract, which enhances pensions and health benefits but cuts 200 jobs, goes into effect when LTV, an aerospace and steel conglomerate, emerges from bankruptcy protection and runs until June, 1994.
