BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Bowa a Candidate to Manage Marlins

Larry Bowa, Philadelphia Phillies third-base coach, will interview for the manager’s job of the expansion Florida Marlins, according to a report. Carl Barger, the Marlins’ president, said Bowa is among 12 candidates he was considering, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

The Atlanta Braves took reliever Alejandro Pena off the 15-day disabled list Saturday. Pena was placed on the DL retroactive to Aug. 21 after suffering tendinitis in his right elbow.
