Laguna Beach Scores First but Not Enough

Laguna Beach scored the game’s first touchdown, but San Bernardino Aquinas then scored 31 consecutive points and won, 31-22, Friday at Aquinas High.
Jerry Price rushed for 187 yards on 19 carries, including a 36-yard touchdown run for Aquinas (1-0).
Laguna Beach quarterback Patrick Wood completed 17 of 25 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Luke Matjas caught both touchdown passes, finishing with nine catches for 81 yards for Laguna Beach (0-1).
With 4 minutes 38 seconds remaining and the Artists trailing 31-22, Ryan Sauers fumbled on the Aquinas one, and Aquinas’ Cesar Herrera recovered the loose ball.
