A Moorpark man remained hospitalized in serious condition Monday after he was stabbed in what investigators believe was a gang-related fight in Thousand Oaks, authorities said.
Jaime Sanchez Hernandez, 19, received knife wounds to his head and abdomen in the fight Sunday evening, which occurred near Hillcrest Drive and Avenida de la Plata, Ventura County Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Montijo said.
Hernandez underwent emergency surgery at Los Robles Regional Medical Center and was reported in serious condition Monday by a hospital spokeswoman.
Investigators have identified four juveniles as probable suspects in the attempted killing, but are still looking for them, Sheriff’s Detective Ernie Montegna said.
“The fight started with a confrontation involving an exchange of words and escalated,” Montegna said.
