WALT’S GREETINGS: A rare example of the first Disney studio Christmas card issued in 1931, signed by Walt Disney, sold for $11,660--three times its pre-sale estimate--at an auction of animation art and Disneyana conducted at Anaheim’s Disneyland Hotel Sunday afternoon. . . . Other notable items sold: an elongated portrait from the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, for $4,840, and one of the original architect’s blueprints for Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, which went for $3,960.
