All events held in Newport Beach.
* A Taste of Newport. Food, wine and beer offered by more than 40 area restaurants Friday from 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. at Newport Center Fashion Island. $6 (free for children under 12); “taster plates” $1-$4 each.
* Estuary Day. A volunteer cleanup of Upper Newport Bay Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Meet at Newport Dunes Aquatic Park, 1131 Backbay Drive.
* Kite festival Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Balboa Park, Main Street and Balboa Boulevard. Most contests free.
* Electric boat rally Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Starts at the Balboa Bay Club, 1221 W. Coast Highway, Newport Beach. Spectators free. Call (714) 673-7200 for entry information.
* Voyagers Yacht Club/SeaFest Challenge Cup sailing regatta Saturday from 11:30 a.m. Starts next to Newport Pier, Newport and Balboa boulevards. Spectators free. Call (714) 544-8851 for entry information.
* Pier swim Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the 28th Street jetty. $15 entry fee.
* SeaFest Huff & Puff cycling and running events Sunday from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Meet at Newport Dunes Aquatic Park, 1131 Backbay Drive. $17 (includes T-shirt and breakfast).
* Health and sports exposition Sunday from 7 a.m. to noon. Meet at Newport Dunes Aquatic Park, 1131 Backbay Drive. Free.
* Newport Beach Library Open House. Nautical-themed activities and displays for children Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Balboa branch library, 100 E. Balboa Blvd. Free.
* Boat display Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at Newport Center Fashion Island. Free.
