Top-seeded Julie Halard of France led a quartet of seeded players into the quarterfinals of a $150,000 women’s tournament at Paris.
Halard defeated Silke Frankl of Germany, 6-1, 6-1, in the second round, and fourth-seeded Emmanuela Zardo of Switzerland defeated Virginia Ruano of Spain, 6-2, 6-2.
