Burbank 49, Bell-Jeff 7--Defense ruled as Burbank romped over Bell-Jeff at Burroughs. The Bulldog defense was led by sophomore defensive back Carlos Baker, who returned three interceptions for touchdowns and had more yards (129) than the entire Bell-Jeff offense.
The Burbank offense was led by quarterback Kendricks Lewis, who rushed for two first-quarter touchdowns. The game was close until the fourth quarter, when the Bulldogs racked up 28 points in 7 minutes 26 seconds.
The game was marred by flags, the teams combining for 16 penalties for 179 yards.
