Apartment Sales: Sales of apartment complexes continue to be relatively flat, with only 14 buildings changing hands during the first half of 1992 in Orange County. The total value of the transactions was $42.83 million. If activity continues at the same rate for the rest of the year, that would represent about a 4% increase over the number of transactions last year, said Brad Turek, apartment specialist with CB Commercial Real Estate Group in Anaheim. But on the same annualized basis, it is down 62% from 1990 and 75% from 1988.
Prices continue to fall, down 14% from 1991 and 23% from two years ago, Turek said. For the first half of 1992, the average price per unit was $58,834, down from $68,400 in 1991 and $76,292 in 1990.
