Hall of Fame trainer Scotty Schulhofer won the Pegasus Handicap at the Meadowlands for the fourth time when Scuffleburg, who had never run in a stakes race in 14 lifetime starts, rallied in the stretch to beat Nines Wild by 1 1/2 lengths.
The Julie Krone-ridden son of Cox’s Ridge covered 1 1/8 miles on a fast but wet track in 1:49.
Technology, the 6-5 favorite who had won the Haskell Invitational and two other stakes earlier this year, didn’t like the wet track and finished a well-beaten sixth.
