COUNTYWIDE : Forum to Examine Water Source Issue

The Ventura Downtown Lions Club will sponsor a public forum Thursday about whether the city should import state water or build a desalination plant.

In November, voters will make a recommendation on the city’s long-term water source. Residents will cast advisory votes and the City Council will make the final choice. “This is to get the public informed and aware of an issue that’s going to impact the city of Ventura for the next 30 years,” said Norman McDaniel, first vice president of the Ventura Downtown Lions Club.

A moderator will interview representatives on each side, and audience members will also have a chance to ask questions of the panelists, McDaniel said.
