SAN DIEGO : Woman Didn’t Know She Was Shot
- Share via
A 37-year-old mentally handicapped woman--unbeknown to herself--was shot in the head early Sunday morning, police said.
Police received a call that eight gunshots had been fired in the 5100 block of Naranja Street at 1:32 a.m. When they went to investigate they found Ann Sherrida Yaeger with a head wound. Yaeger, who was walking with a friend, told police that she had not heard any gunfire and that she had hurt herself in a fall.
Doctors at Paradise Valley Hospital, however, discovered that Yaeger had a bullet lodged in her skull, police said.
It is not known who fired the gun and why they did it.
