PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State Coach Mike Price, concerned that his team might not be ready to play Temple, needn’t have worried, as Shaumbe Wright-Fair rushed for four touchdowns Saturday in a 51-10 victory over the Owls.
“A sign of a good team is beating teams you are supposed to beat,” Price said. “We were supposed to beat Temple and we did.”
Cougar quarterback Drew Bledsoe completed 16 of 21 passes for 214 yards, including a 34-yard touchdown to C.J. Davis, before yielding to substitutes for the third quarter.
Washington State (4-0) totaled 558 yards of offense against Temple (1-4).
Wright-Fair scored on runs of five, one and four yards and capped his day with a 63-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Wright-Fair rushed for 114 yards in 13 carries.
