Police on Thursday were searching for a 34-year-old Sun Valley man suspected of fatally shooting the manager of a Sun Valley apartment building and critically wounding a teen-ager following an argument, police said.
Manuel Orozco Lopez, 20, was pronounced dead from gunshot wounds at the scene of the 11:20 p.m. shooting in the 7500 block of Vineland Avenue, said Los Angeles Police Officer Richard Householder. A 17-year-old youth, whose name was withheld because he is a minor, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition Thursday with gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Nereo Ojeda is being sought in the shootings.
Householder said that police found the two shooting victims lying in a rear parking lot of an apartment complex. Witnesses told police that the victims and the suspect had been arguing before the shooting.
The motive is under investigation.
