U.S. Team Loses in Volleyball Again

The U.S. national volleyball team lost its third consecutive match Sunday as Japan defeated the Americans, 15-12, 10-15, 15-4, 15-10, at Osaka, Japan.
Outside hitters Carlos Briceno of Fountain Valley and Nick Becker of Newport Beach had 24 and 15 kills, respectively. Huntington Beach’s Dan Hanan added 14 kills and five blocks.
Bob Samuelson of Playa del Rey led the United States with 38 kills.
