Debate Scheduled for Anaheim City Election Candidates

ANAHEIM — Mayoral and City Council candidates are scheduled to debate Oct. 22 at a luncheon sponsored by the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce Women’s Division.
Mayor Fred Hunter and his challenger, Councilman Tom Daly, have been invited to attend.
The council candidates are Daly, Councilman William D. Ehrle and challengers Fares Batarseh, a bakery sales manager; Frank Feldhaus, a telephone service manager who finished fifth in 1990’s council election; Todd Kaudy, a law student; Phil Knypstra, a community college business professor and frequent council critic; Keith Olesen, a computer components salesman and former chairman of the city’s Gang/Drug Task Force; Manuel Ontiveros, a recent Savanna High School graduate; Ed Skinner, a local business owner; Frank Turner, a Los Angeles County fire captain; and Bob Zemel, a local real estate broker and planning commissioner who finished third in 1988.
The top two finishers in the Nov. 3 election will win seats.
The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the debate at noon. It will be at the Holiday Inn Maingate, 1221 S. Harbor Blvd.
