George Keiaho rushed 27 times for 248 yards and four touchdowns, including three in the third quarter, to lead Buena High to a 39-7 victory over Hueneme in a Channel League game Friday night at Ventura High.
Keiaho, a junior who opened the season with a 415-yard game against Westlake, had been slowed by an ankle injury in recent games. He was limited to 28 yards last week against Santa Barbara.
But he started fast Friday, gaining 110 yards by the end of the first quarter. In the second period, Bryan Cesario rushed eight yards to give the Bulldogs a 14-0 lead.
Johnny Chang rushed for 90 yards in four carries, including a late fourth-quarter touchdown run of 15 yards, in leading the Bulldogs on a 98-yard, five-play drive.
Buena (3-3, 2-1) amassed 482 yards in total offense; Hueneme had 188 total yards.
Hueneme (0-6, 0-3) scored its only touchdown when Tremaine Jones bolted 35 yards midway through the second quarter.
