Verbum Dei 19, Pius X 0--Senior wide receiver Lamont Solomon caught three touchdown passes to help Verbum Dei shut out Pius X in a Camino Real League game.
Senior running back and reserve quarterback Jim Perry completed four of 10 passes for 130 yards, including 68- and 46-yard touchdown passes to Solomon. He also caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Mark Popper, giving the receiver a total of five receptions for 148 yards.
Verbum Dei held Pius X to a total of 137 yards.
