Anita Hill

One year ago millions of Americans viewed Anita Hill making her charges of sexual harassment against Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas (editorial, “The Legacy of Anita Hill,” Oct. 10). After witnessing her testimony live, with their own eyes, the public overwhelmingly (two-thirds in most polls) believed Clarence Thomas.
In the past year since the hearings, the press has managed with almost daily articles on the subject to change the minds of nearly half of these eyewitnesses. The power of the press is truly remarkable.
