On Assignment Says Profit Rose 69% in 3rd Quarter

On Assignment Inc., a Canoga Park placement agency for temporary scientific workers, said its third-quarter profit jumped 69% from a year earlier on a 27% increase in revenue.
In the three months that ended Sept. 30, On Assignment’s net income climbed to $539,000 from $319,000 a year earlier, and its revenue rose to $8.65 million from $6.80 million.
On Assignment, which completed its initial public stock offering Sept. 22, said its profit for the first nine months of 1992 increased 40%, to $1.17 million from $833,000 a year earlier, and its nine-month revenue rose 24%, to $23.6 million from $19 million.
