An illegal carburetor disqualified Jeff Burton’s lap, which led second-day qualifiers for today’s AC Delco 200 Busch Grand National late model stock car race at North Carolina Motor Speedway.
Burton, who turned a fast lap of 144.432 m.p.h. to apparently gain the 21st starting spot in what was to have been a 40-car field, will be allowed to start, but as a provisional starter in the 41st position.
Jeff Gordon, who earned a Grand National record 11th pole Thursday, will lead the field.
