Crash Victim Dies of Injuries

A Loomis Armored guard who was critically injured in a weekend crash on the Antelope Valley Freeway died Sunday, hospital officials said.
The 31-year-old Simi Valley man, who was not identified, died about 4:30 p.m. after spending a day in the critical care unit at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said. The man was riding with a fellow guard Saturday afternoon when the truck skidded off the freeway in Lancaster, flipping twice before stopping in a ravine. Both men were trapped in the truck.
The driver died shortly after the accident. The man who died Sunday had been taken to the hospital with critical head injuries.
