Mayor Richard Partin was listed in stable condition Tuesday at Los Alamitos Medical Center, where he was admitted Monday morning after complaining of chest pains.
Since then, Partin, an engineer, has undergone a battery of tests to determine the cause of the pain. However, a heart attack has been ruled out at this time, said Lillian Haina, executive coordinator/deputy city clerk.
Partin, 54, a longtime member of the Cypress political community, won election to the council in 1990. He was appointed mayor in November, 1991. Before that he served on the council from 1981 until 1986.
