FALLBROOK : 8-Month-Old Baby Found Dead in Tub

An 8-month-old baby died Wednesday in Fallbrook, apparently left unattended in six inches of bath water, a county medical examiner’s spokesman said. The infant, Bernice Solano-Montes of Fallbrook, was in the bath with her 19-month-old sister. She was found lifeless by her mother about 3:39 p.m., the spokesman said.
The infant was taken to Fallbrook Hospital by ambulance while paramedics kept her alive with cardiopulmonary resuscitation for a short time, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The baby was pronounced dead at 4:34 p.m.
