Congratulations on your very insightful editorial urging a “no” vote on Prop. 161.
Although my own opposition to Prop. 161 has a religious base, your editorial correctly pointed out that there are good reasons to oppose this measure from a purely ethical standpoint.
There are, as you indicate, insufficient safeguards against abuse in this proposition, which makes it very dangerous. Let’s be quite clear about one thing: This measure is not about “letting nature take its course.” It is about legalized assisted suicide.
