In another East Valley League game:
Poly 35, Van Nuys 28--Senior Johnnie Brown scored four touchdowns and finished with 166 yards in 22 carries to lead Poly at home. Brown scored on runs of two, five, one and two yards.
Poly’s fifth touchdown came on Anthony Muse’s three-yard quarterback keeper.
Poly (6-2, 3-2) built a 35-22 lead in the fourth quarter on the second of Brown’s two-yard scoring runs.
Quarterback Bill Calhoun of Van Nuys (5-3, 3-2) threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Tasheeri Walker late in the fourth quarter. Walker also caught a 44-yard touchdown pass and scored on a 54-yard run.
