COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Fullerton Clinches Conference Soccer Title

Fullerton College clinched the Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer title with a 3-1 victory over Rancho Santiago Friday at Rancho Santiago in the last match of the regular season.
It was the first outright title for Fullerton and Coach Jim Pasquale, who started the program in 1976. Fullerton and Orange Coast tied for the South Coast Conference title in 1981.
Eron Campuzano scored in the first half for Fullerton and Jose Figueroa added two goals in the second half (11-4-6, 7-2-3 in conference).
In other Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:
Orange Coast 2, Cypress 0--Scott Hutcheon and Sergio Suarez scored second-half goals for host Orange Coast (11-6-1, 8-4), which clinched a playoff berth. Orange Coast goalie Satoshi Funatsu had five saves, posting his third consecutive shutout. Cypress finished at 4-13-1, 1-10-1.
Riverside 6, Golden West 1--Alejandro Vigueras and Sebastian Huerta each scored two goals for visiting Riverside (7-3-2 in conference). Christopher Siok scored a first-half goal for Golden West (6-12-3, 2-8-2).
In Orange Empire Conference women’s volleyball:
Golden West 3, Cypress 0--Karen Hernandez and Debbie Howard each had 10 kills, helping top-ranked Golden West (23-0, 10-0) clinch its sixth consecutive conference title by defeating Cypress, 15-3, 15-4, 15-6.
