Crenshaw Scores in Final Minute to Upset 3rd-Ranked Saugus, 21-16

Quarterback Eric Scott scored on a four-yard touchdown with 32 seconds to play to lift Crenshaw High to a 21-16 upset of Saugus in an intersectional game Friday night at Canyon High.
The Cougars (5-4-1) began their winning drive after Francois Eugene intercepted a pass by Bobby Cowan at the Crenshaw 47 with 4 minutes 53 seconds to play. Running back Jason Grant completed a 32-yard pass to Lawrence Colter to highlight the ensuing drive and on the eighth play Scott scored.
Trailing, 13-8, in the third quarter, Saugus (7-2-1), ranked third in The Times’ area poll, scored on a three-yard run by James Walker. Walker gained 85 yards in 19 carries.
Cowan completed only five of 17 passes for 73 yards. His only scoring pass came on a six-yard strike to Bobby Rodriguez in the first quarter.
