California IN BRIEF : SAN JOSE : No Damage Reports After 3.4 Quake

A small quake shook the area early Saturday, but no damage or injuries were reported, authorities said. The earthquake registered magnitude 3.4 and struck at 1:57 a.m., said Pat Jorgenson, a spokeswoman for the U.S Geological Survey in Menlo Park. It was centered about 10 miles east of San Jose, and was probably on the Calaveras Fault, she said.
