Joseph Plandowski has been selected for the newly created position of executive vice president, laboratory operations, for Nichols Institute, a San Juan Capistrano medical testing company. He was most recently president and chief executive of Genetrix Inc. in Arizona, a genetics testing firm. In addition, Paul Bellamy has been appointed vice president and chief financial officer, and John Roberts is now vice president, human resources. Before joining Nichols, Bellamy was executive vice president and chief financial officer for Lex Electronics, and Roberts was vice president, human resources, for the Miami Herald newspaper. Also, Paul Sohmer, who had been vice president of the company’s professional services organization, has been appointed vice president, new business development. Delbert Fisher, most recently president, Nichols Institute Reference Laboratories, has been appointed president and chief science officer of Nichols Academic Associates. James Whitmer, who had been chief financial officer, is now vice president, mergers and acquisitions.
