Arazi, the 1991 2-year-old of the year, is being retired after a succession of disappointing results this year.
The French-trained 3-year-old, who finished eighth as the favorite in the Kentucky Derby, will stand at the Dalham Hall Stud at Newmarket, England, for a $30,000 stud fee. Sheikh Mohammed, who bought a half-share in Arazi for $9 million last year from Southland business executive Allan Paulson, will pay an undisclosed sum for full ownership.
