Miyazawa Reportedly Expects ‘Hot Air’ From Clinton: Japan Prime Minister Kiichi Miyazawa says he expects the incoming Clinton Administration will “blow a lot of hot air” on U.S.-Japan trade problems, a news report said. Kyodo News Service said Miyazawa made the remark during the taping of a television interview to be aired Jan. 2. It was not possible to confirm the statement. “They will probably say all sorts of things. Whenever there is a new Administration, they always blow a lot of hot air, but after several months, it quiets down,” Kyodo quoted Miyazawa as saying. Japan’s $43-billion trade surplus with the United States is expected to expand this year as Japanese firms try to make up for a slowdown at home by stepping up exports.
