Taxing Issues

Suggestion: Adopt a rule for the media not to publicize citizen communications (letters, etc.) objecting to one and/or any tax increases unless there is an accompanying substantive alternative proposal for remedial policy/action as a solution to the problems at issue.
The central point: “There is no such thing as a free lunch” is not just an aphorism, it is a fact of our lives--unpalatably, indeed--but nonetheless a fact. Unless the responsible citizenry acknowledges (to themselves) such a truism, so will the pages-airwaves of objectioners (to their self-made existences) be filled with innate cries for some unrealistic nirvana, to which they would escape.
