WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : USC Defeats Washington

Jualeah Woods scored nine of her 13 points in the second half as No. 15-ranked USC held on to defeat Washington, 46-45, Thursday night in a Pacific 10 Conference game at Seattle.
The Trojans (19-5 overall, 12-3 in Pac-10) remain tied for first place in the conference with Stanford, a winner over Arizona State.
Washington is 14-11 and 9-7.
UCLA 77, Washington State 74--The Cougars (7-18, 3-13) scored the first 12 points, but the Bruins (12-12, 7-8), behind Natalie Williams’ 29 points and 16 rebounds, were able to prevail in a Pac-10 game at Pullman.
