Edison Launches Strategy to Commercialize Solar Energy: Vowing to bring solar power out of the lab and make it available to consumers, Southern California Edison announced several new projects to expand existing developments that include a liquid-salt solar power generator, to be built in the Mojave Desert, and a solar carport to recharge electric vehicles. One new idea is a portable photoelectric array, using technology developed jointly with Texas Instruments.
