SANTA PAULA : City Hires Director for Redevelopment
- Share via
Santa Paula has hired the planning director of the San Joaquin Valley town of Delano for the newly created position of economic development director, city officials announced Friday.
Ken Cott, 41, will join the city April 12. He was selected from among 60 candidates to fill the new position, City Administrator Arnold Dowdy said. Cott will be asked to overhaul the city’s outdated General Plan and help plan the direction of the city’s new redevelopment agency, Dowdy said. The $57,000 annual salary will be paid from redevelopment funds.
Cott said he worked for Delano for 13 years, the last eight as planning and economic development director.
Dowdy said Cott’s experience in Delano was an important factor in his selection. Delano has a population of about 25,000, the same as Santa Paula.
