L.A. Gear Acquires Distribution Business: L.A. Gear has purchased all share capital of American Fashion & Footwear Agency, the exclusive distributor of Gear products in Germany since 1988. American Fashion ranked among L.A. Gear’s top three distributors the last two fiscal years. L.A. Gear, a Santa Monica-based developer of athletic footwear, said the acquisition is part of its strategic effort to obtain direct control over its products in foreign markets. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
