LEAST WANTED G-MAN? Ridicule of the late J. Edgar Hoover, the formerly feared and revered FBI director, now has official blessing. Both President Clinton and Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) are taking whacks at Hoover following publication of a best-selling book by Anthony Summers that claims Hoover once attended a party wearing a fluffy black dress, lace stockings, high heels and a curly wig. Clinton’s crack at a press dinner that it would “be hard to fill J. Edgar Hoover’s pumps” if a new FBI director were needed was matched by Dole. He joked that “the lovely dress” worn by UPI reporter Helen Thomas “is from the new J. Edgar Hoover collection.” . . .
