Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Accident

HUNTINGTON BEACH — A pedestrian hit by a car in an alley Sunday evening was declared dead on arrival at UCI Medical Center in Orange, and the driver of the car that struck him was being treated for injuries at another hospital, police said.
Details of the incident were incomplete Sunday night. The identities of both persons were unavailable.
The accident occurred in an alley near Delaware Street and Ellis Avenue at 8:19 p.m., Police Sgt. Brian Tidrick said.
The pedestrian was transported by helicopter to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the car was taken to Pacifica Community Hospital in Huntington Beach for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
An investigation of the incident was continuing, Tidrick said.
