Want an easy (and superficial) way to depict society’s ills? Suggest that whomever you dislike is a Nazi. Using the most universal symbol for evil, Conrad “police baits” by suggesting that like the Nazis, the cops beat, imprison, sterilize, perform medical killings, build concentration camps and formulate genocidal policies. After all, that’s what the Nazis did.

We expect more than facile, inappropriate and pointless material from a mature editorial cartoonist: How about clever images, thoughtful analogies and biting commentary?
