ARLINGTON, Va. — A woman was shot and killed Monday as she called 911 to alert police that her estranged husband was in her home with a gun, police said.
Kenneth Bibbs, 29, a campus policeman at Northern Virginia Community College, was charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of his estranged wife, Annie Bibbs, also 29.
Police spokesman Tom Bell said officers responded within minutes of the call but were too late. Bibbs surrendered to police at his wife’s house, Bell said.
Bell said 911 telephone dispatchers heard the gunshots over the telephone.
