FULLERTON : Congressmen Set Up Meeting on Budget
- Share via
The merits of President Clinton’s budget will be debated today at a town hall meeting organized by Republican congressmen at the Fullerton Senior Multi-Service Center, at 340 W. Commonwealth Ave.
In addition, local Democrats will hold a press conference at 9:30 a.m. across the street, between Fullerton’s City Hall and main library.
Reps. Robert K. Dornan (R-Garden Grove), Dana Rohrabacher (R-Huntington Beach), Ed Royce (R-Fullerton) and Christopher Cox (R-Newport Beach) are scheduled to attend the Republican meeting, which is open to the public and will start at 10 a.m.
In calling the meeting, Dornan criticized Clinton for proposing “record” taxes and government spending. He said he wants to hear from “the people in our community who will have to pay part of the bill.”
The Democrats said they will criticize “continued attempts by Republicans to perpetuate gridlock.” They will try to raise support for the President’s budget, they said.
