‘Cliffhanger’ III
I read with interest the recent articles (Film Clips, March 7 and April 11) regarding my attempts to obtain co-screenwriting credit from the Writers Guild for the motion picture “Cliffhanger.”
Please know that I never personally petitioned for such a credit from the WGA; the film’s executive producer, Mario Kassar; the producer, Alan Marshall, and the director, Renny Harlin, made the request from the guild because of their belief that the “Cliffhanger” script has been a collaborative effort.
It should also be made clear that although I greatly appreciated their efforts, I did not personally ask any of the petitioners to approach the WGA on my behalf.
I felt it necessary to set the record straight on the matter.
