Remembering Chavez: El Teatro Campesino, Luis Valdez’s theater group formed in the fields during the 1965 Delano Grape Strike, dedicated its four-day engagement at Santa Ana’s Yost Theatre to the memory of United Farm Workers leader Cesar Chavez, who died Friday at age 66. Announcing the dedication, El Teatro actor and spokeswoman Julia La Riva said to the audience, “In (a change of) the words of the great martyr, Joe Hill, who said, ‘Don’t mourn, organize,’ we would like to say, ‘Don’t mourn, perform.’ ”
