Duke’s Cherokee Parks, The Times Orange County 1991 player of the year while at Marina High, is a finalist for a spot on the U.S. under-22 team that will attempt to qualify for July’s FIBA under-22 World Championships.
Parks was one of 14 candidates for the team, which will be coached by Roy Williams of Kansas. The U.S. team will play in the COPABA under-22 qualification tournament June 14-22 in Argentina.
