Coupon booklets for the new Buy and Shop in Stanton campaign will be distributed today by members of the City Council and Chamber of Commerce at shopping centers in the city.
The campaign, a joint effort by the city and chamber, seeks to increase consumer spending in Stanton by giving away 30,000 booklets containing discount coupons to residents and businesses. Users of the coupons will become eligible for prizes. The campaign runs through Oct. 1.
Councilman Sal Sapien said he will be at Smith’s Food & Drug Center on Katella Avenue to pass out the booklets. Other officials will be at the Food 4 Less and the Indoor Swap Meet of Stanton, both on Beach Boulevard.
Redevelopment Coordinator Paul J. Gerola said public response to the campaign, which began July 1, has been good. “A lot of people have been using the coupons,” he said.
