VENTURA : Council to Consider Outdoor Dining Law
- Share via
The Ventura City Council on Monday will consider adopting a law that would allow outdoor restaurant dining in the city.
If passed, restaurateurs would be allowed to put out chairs and tables on public sidewalks as long as there is a four-foot clearance for pedestrians.
Under the proposed ordinance, restaurant owners would pay $50 to apply for a permit for sidewalk dining and renew it each year as long as it meets minimum appearance standards.
City officials said they expect restaurants primarily in the downtown area to take advantage of the law if it is passed.
