Homeless Man Shot Dead in Money Dispute

GARDEN GROVE — A 20-year-old transient died after he was shot several times during a dispute over money with another homeless man Saturday at Pioneer Park, police said.
Roland Kenneth Laporte died after surgery at UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was taken after the 1 p.m. shooting, which occurred in front of several witnesses, said Garden Grove police Sgt. Dan Lyons.
Shortly after the shooting, William Henry Wade, a 62-year-old transient, walked up to the front desk at the Garden Grove Police Department and turned himself in, according to Lyons.
