PREP ROUNDUP : Vaden Scores Six Goals, but La Habra Loses

Bryan Vaden scored six goals but couldn’t prevent Bell Gardens from running away with an 18-12 victory over La Habra in the final of the Bell Gardens Invitational water polo tournament Saturday in Bell Gardens.
Vaden finished with 29 goals for the tournament.
Dan Ploog scored eight goals and Vaden five as La Habra defeated Rolland, 13-10, in a semifinal game.
In nonleague girls’ volleyball:
Capistrano Valley 3, Woodbridge 0--Lena Malinowski led Capistrano Valley (1-1) with 12 kills as they defeated Woodbridge (1-1), 15-8, 15-9, 15-11.
Huntington Beach 3, San Marcos 0--Melissa Wendt had 15 kills and Jill Meyers had six blocks for host Huntington Beach (1-0), which defeated San Marcos, 16-14, 15-10, 15-8.
